Let's Wordle! Example Wordle
note: Here's a simplified example. Yours should have more words in it.
In this activité, you will create a Valentine's Day inspired "Poster" using only French vocabulary.
Follow the directions carefully and use this site Wordle Another site a student suggested to me is Tagxedo. I am not super familiar with this site, so the directions for it are not spelled out below, but it creates a word cloud like Wordle.
2. Click on "Create your own"
3. Create a Wordle using at least 15 Valentine's Day vocabulary and expressions from this list of Valentine's Day vocabulary. Be sure to use accents when necessary. Choose the words that are the most important to you and type/copy them several times. The more times you write the word, the larger it will be in your Wordle. I would be sure to emphasize at least 7 of the words you've selected, but copy them in different amounts. For example, you might write love twenty times and february 10 times and cupid five times. NOTE: Only use the MAIN word, not the articles like un/une/des or le/la/les/l'. Also it's best to choose single vocabulary word items and not vocab expressions with more than one word. The Wordle won't keep the vocab expressions together. Suggestion: Type your words in a google doc and then if your wordle messes up, you have the words already typed. Then cut and paste vocabulary into your wordle.
5. When you are done typing, click on "go."
6. Your Wordle poster will appear. You might have to scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "view in window" to be able to edit.
7. Now, you may edit the font, color, layout, etc. Be careful, you can't really undo or go back.
8. When you are satisfied with your poster, Click on "Save to Public Gallery" to save a digital copy. Name your wordle with your first name only. Then, copy and paste the link and email it to yourself and to Madame Young. (nyoung@nssd112.org)
